Be sure to let us know if you'd like your request included in the newsletter or kept private. Thanks to those who have trusted us and presented their requests – what a privilege to carry those to God in prayer! • Please pray for two players who dislocated their kneecap – at different times. Abby had successful surgery last week and we praise God for His protection! Cara is not in need of surgery, but has at least 6 weeks of rehab before trying anything ‘athletic’! This is a hard time for both young ladies, as they love the sport and their teammates! Pray for quiet obedience and quick/complete healing along with patience!! • Pray for Shirley, one of our moms, who suffers with an inner ear disorder. Pray for the stresses to calm down and for the dizziness to be controlled without radical surgery. Please also pray for a Carpe Diem family whose 75 year old father/grandfather just had part of a lung removed. He also suffers from heart problems and the prognosis is not clear at this time. Pray for miraculous healing of body and mind, and for clarity regarding upcoming treatment decisions. • Please also keep Bill in your prayers. He had eye surgery this past winter, so please pray that he is healed and no further treatment is necessary. • Please continue to be in prayer for a wonderful man who claims to be an atheist. Pray that the scales are removed from his eyes and heart, and that the Lord surrounds him with Godly people who will love him as Christ Himself loves us! • We have amazing coaches with every team! Praise God for answered prayer! Please be in prayer for Ryan, Rebecca, Lauren and Christa as these young, busy people prepare to give themselves to the youth of the area! • We would love to have another blood drive in May. If anyone can help us put this together, we’d sure appreciate it! Facility Update: CARPE DIEM SPORTS AND WELLNESS CENTER!! • Can you believe this is our second anniversary? We have been in our building for 2 years now! Praise God for His guidance and provision, and thanks to all of you who have made these past 2 years so memorable and exciting! • We are changing! This week, we are preparing to tear up all three courts and put more ‘padding’ down! (It is what we wanted when we opened, but at that time we couldn’t afford it! After saving up, we are now able to make this huge purchase! God is good!) It looks like it won’t be in as early as we hoped but by Friday, God willing, we will be calling on ALL hands to join us in a ‘demolition and reconstruction’ party!!! If you are willing and able to help, we will have pizza and drinks all day Friday and Saturday. Let David know if you’re around and can help. • If your business is interested in advertising at our place, contact David. We have a great amount of wall space for banners!! Cost for advertising is: 250.00/year and you supply the banner. 350.00/ year and we will get a banner made for you. • We'd love to have a ‘library' in the facility! If you have any new or gently used, family friendly books, please bring them in! This prompts another need – somewhere to store them! If you have a bookshelf to donate, we'd really appreciate it! People have already taken advantage of our ‘cozy' reading supply! • Help us fill up the facility: renting out courts for parties, running basketball teams, bringing in inspirational speakers, exercise/Pilates classes, AAU tournaments, and eventual tutoring programs/after school programs and Bible studies, along with the ‘normal' stuff we do! If you have ANY other ideas for us, please let us know! We need to keep this place filled for financial reasons, but we also need to use it to minister to all people! If you are interested in renting out the facility, please contact David . • THANK YOU to all those who have donated their time, money and ‘stuff'!! We sure appreciate you and would not be near where we are without your support! PLEASE continue to pray for us, as we need every kind of support you can think of, especially prayer and financial! Blessings as we Celebrate the Death and Resurrection of our Lord and Savior! Christ is risen! ‘"Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger." Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, "Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests."’ Luke 2:10-14 ‘And the child grew and became strong; he was filled with wisdom, and the grace of God was upon him.’ Luke 2:40 ‘Every year his parents went to Jerusalem for the Feast of the Passover. When he was twelve years old, they went up to the Feast, according to the custom. After the Feast was over, while his parents were returning home, the boy Jesus stayed behind in Jerusalem, but they were unaware of it. Thinking he was in their company, they traveled on for a day. Then they began looking for him among their relatives and friends. When they did not find him, they went back to Jerusalem to look for him. After three days they found him in the temple courts, sitting among the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions. Everyone who heard him was amazed at his understanding and his answers. "Why were you searching for me?" he asked. "Didn't you know I had to be in my Father's house?" And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men.’ Luke 2:41-52 ‘When he came near the place where the road goes down the Mount of Olives, the whole crowd of disciples began joyfully to praise God in loud voices for all the miracles they had seen: "Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord!" "Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!"’ Luke 19:37-38 ‘…but Jesus asked him, "Judas, are you betraying the Son of Man with a kiss?"’ Luke 22:48 ‘The men who were guarding Jesus began mocking and beating him.’ Luke 22:63 ‘For the third time (Pilate) spoke to them: "Why? What crime has this man committed? I have found in him no grounds for the death penalty.’ Luke 23:22 ‘When they came to the place called the Skull, there they crucified him, along with the criminals—one on his right, the other on his left. Jesus said, "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing." Luke 23:33-34 ‘Jesus called out with a loud voice, "Father, into your hands I commit my spirit." When he had said this, he breathed his last.’ Luke 23:45 ‘"Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; he has risen!’ Luke 24:5-6 ‘Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." Matthew 28:16-20 “Christ is Risen!” |
